You Should Be Terrified: What Happens If Putin Uses a Nuke in Ukraine?
4 Oct 2022
The war between Russia and Ukraine is still underway. Russia held what the West is calling a sham referendum annexing chunks of the Donbas and some of the contiguous areas.
Today I spoke with President Zelenskyy to underscore that the U.S. will never recognize Russia’s purported annexation of Ukrainian territory.
I reaffirmed my commitment to continue supporting Ukraine, including through today’s new $625 million security assistance package. pic.twitter.com/0ZP2uopn4n

Canada & our allies stand united in refusing to recognize Russia’s fake, false and sham-like referenda in Ukraine. I rose in the House of Commons to condemn Russia and support Ukraine. You can watch my full speech below. https://t.co/ZyoRsVBkat

“Over the past two decades, it is Russia that has invaded neighboring countries; interfered in other countries’ elections; used chemical weapons to attempt to assassinate opponents of the government, and done so on foreign soil.” U.S. Department of State Secretary Blinken pic.twitter.com/tsoruv1Y8y

I couldn’t have said it better than @SecBlinken: Putin’s “elections” in eastern Ukraine are a complete sham.
America continues to stand with the Ukrainian people – and we will never recognize Ukrainian territory as anything other than part of Ukraine. https://t.co/RBCs38HsV9

In recent days, the Ukrainian military has been on the offensive and is getting deeper and deeper into territory that had been seized previously by the Russians.
CNN: A startling development. Ukraine’s retaken ~1/4 of Kherson region. Russia’s now in retreat on 2 fronts. This is exceptionally damaging for Russia. They’re going thru the charade of rubber-stamping annexation of territory that’s falling back into Ukraine’s hands hour by hour. pic.twitter.com/vcplXT06vc

There is battlefield momentum behind the Ukrainians right now, and the U.S. government is sending more military assistance.
Today the US authorized $625 million in new military assistance to Ukraine. This will bring total U.S military assistance for Ukraine to more than $16.8 billion since Russia launched its assault against Ukraine on February 24.

If they break through to the Donbas region, you’re looking at a 20 to 30% chance of a tactical nuclear weapon being used.
According to a report in The New York Post, Russian President Vladimir Putin is preparing a series of nuclear weapons tests near the Ukrainian border; the Kremlin is planning to test so-called “doomsday” Poseidon nuclear torpedo drones, NYP adds. https://t.co/VYqo18Qojl
