Will Newly Engaged Buck Handle Clay’s Tricky Question About Carrie?
30 Aug 2022
Buck never saw it coming.
The bottom-of-the-hour segment started out innocently enough. Clay and Buck discussed their upcoming flights across this great nation, to broadcast from affiliates and meet members of this wonderful audience.
The conversation slipped into the craze of “emotional support animals” on airplanes. These days, it’s back to just being dogs who serve this role, but for a while, there were pretty unusual pairings: emotional support mini-horse, emotional support peacock — and recently, the tale of the alligator that got the job!
It’s when emotional support snakes sprang up, that Clay pounced. “If my wife decided to leave me and I got back in the dating market, which sounds miserable, a woman with a snake would immediately be right off the list.”

Then he put the question to Buck — live on the radio before millions of you listening. “You’re about to get married. If Carrie had four snakes in her apartment, do you think you would have stayed in the relationship?”
Whoa. That’s an Admiral Ackbar moment for sure.
Hear the full segment above and see how Buck handled it with his usual aplomb and thoughtfulness. Plus, the latest on the cats destroying Clay’s house.
