We Must Never Forget December 7, 1941

December 7, 1941, “a date which will live in infamy.” Today is Pearl Harbor Day, when we mark America being thrust into World War II by the Empire of Japan’s attack on our military base in Pearl Harbor.

In the audio link above, Buck remembers his grandfather, Lawrence F. Hickey, who served on the USS Bataan.  He also reads an excerpt from Donald Stratton’s book: All the Gallant Men: An American Sailor’s Firsthand Account of Pearl Harbor

It’s worth watching President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s speech to remember how we confronted this threat, and to realize how far we’ve come from that moment of putting America first.
