There’s Still Pride in American Hearts
6 Jul 2021
On the Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show, hosts and callers weighed in on the Wall Street Journal editorial asking, “Is Pride in America a Thing of the Past?” After spending much of July 5th talking about left-wing displays of anti-Americanism on Independence Day weekend, Clay and Buck were encouraged to read the Journal’s findings.
The poll found 68% of adults say they are very or extremely proud to be an American with another 15% are moderately proud. These figures included 55% of black and 57% of Hispanic Americans. But showing that the worldwide communist left’s targeting of our youth is bearing fruit, only 36% of citizens aged 18-to-24 felt very or extremely proud, by far the lowest of any demographic, compared to those 65+ who felt proud by almost a 9-to-1 margin.
“Lack of intelligence is not what drives this,” Buck said, “because it’s the indoctrination. It’s the social media echo chamber. You want to find anti-Americanism? Walk around the Brown University campus for a few minutes. The so-called liberal elites at these institutions are the ones who are most anti-American.”
Elena — a 24-year-old from what she called “Commiefornia” — called to proclaim her love for the country, and explain the pushback she gets from peers. “I get called racist. I get called a bootlicker. I get called everything in the book. I am a proud Hispanic-American. I love my country. I love the United States, and I am extremely proud to be in this country, and I have never, ever felt oppressed in this country.”
Clay pointed out that Donald Trump “increased his support among Hispanic voters from 28% to 38%, according to a Pew Research poll that came out,” and prompted the caller to speculate on why. She explained that many immigrants experienced socialism firsthand in the Latin-American countries they fled.
Clay said, “Instead of viewing Hispanic voters as an obstacle, I think that the Republicans know the Republican Party has to view Hispanic voters as an incredible opportunity.” Next up was Chase in Savannah, Georgia, a 22-year-old who urged Clay to join her in the freedom and tolerance of the American South. Truth, after all, is a hallmark of the EIB Network and the Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show.
