The Jan. 6th Prosecutions vs. Liberal Riots

Clay and Buck

20 Jul 2021

JIM JORDAN: You know what this is about. This is about going after President Trump, you know. The Democrats, they donโ€™t want to talk about anything else. They donโ€™t wanna talk about this. They donโ€™t want to talk about the crime thatโ€™s going up in every major urban area; they donโ€™t want to talk about the crisis at the border.

They donโ€™t want to talk about the price โ€” the fact that the price of everything is going up. The price of eggs went up. The price of milkโ€™s went up. The price of lumberโ€™s went up. The price of an airline ticketโ€™s up, the price of a used car. Everythingโ€™s gone up. They donโ€™t want to talk about all that, so they gotta talk about, oh, how weโ€™re gonna go after president for the third time.

BUCK: Welcome back to the Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show. Iโ€™m Buck, and there you had Congressman Jim Jordan. I donโ€™t know, Clay. I feel like hopefullyโ€ฆ You and I both like the congressman. Maybe heโ€™s listening to the show โ€™cause it sounds like what we were talking about yesterday. They gotta discuss the insurrection โ€” and weโ€™ve been saying this for weeks โ€” because Biden is a flop.

This administrationโ€™s agenda is all supposed to be crammed through in this mega budget. No legislation of any real consequence in the first year. They know theyโ€™re going into rough seas with the midterms. This just goes to the Trump fixation not only of the Democrat Party but of the Democrat-aligned corporate media as well. Which is why in January 6th Commissionโ€ฆ We already had an impeachment! Weโ€™ve already seen all videos.

CLAY: We had a couple of impeachments. (laughing) The insurrection-related impeachment, yeah.

BUCK: On this specifically. And as I noted yesterday, I even checked with a friend of mine whoโ€™s a criminal defense attorney who listens to the show, I asked, I said, โ€œCorrect me if Iโ€™m wrong, there isโ€ฆโ€ I looked up the federal statute. Thereโ€™s a federal statute on rebellion or insurrection that you can charge. Itโ€™s very serious. You can charge people with it. Not a single person from the so-called insurrection has been โ€” or I would wager will be โ€” charged with insurrection. I mean, if youโ€™re gonna call something a bank robbery, Clay, donโ€™t you think you would charge robbery?

CLAY: Itโ€™s well said. The reason theyโ€™re not being charged with an insurrection is because the lawyers who are prosecuting these cases are aware they would lose.

BUCK: Yep.

Clay and BuckCLAY: And what is happening here is there is a desperate fixation on Trump, and you understand why. We talked early about CNN and how theyโ€™re so untrustworthy. Theyโ€™ve lost 75% of their audience, Buck, since January of this year. Imagine whatever business you are in, imagine if you lost 75% of your business in the space of a year. That would be an all-hands-on-deck meeting.

BUCK: Yeah, this wouldnโ€™t be the Clay and Buck show. This would be the Bob and Bill show or something. (laughing)

CLAY: Yeah. For what we do, if we lost 75% of our audience, if you lost 75% of your customer base, youโ€™d have everybody sitting around the table tossing ideas ought. And theyโ€™ve tried to make Tucker Carlson the worst person, the modern version of Trump. It hasnโ€™t worked, and honestly, itโ€™s probably only helped his ratings overall โ€™cause a lot of people tune in โ€™cause theyโ€™re thinking, โ€œI canโ€™t wait to see whatโ€™s gonna be said next.โ€

And itโ€™s just a big failure.

By the way, I just texted Jim Jordan I think does incredible work and weโ€™re gonna try to get him on the show. I want to tell people out there who are listening, make sure to be here tomorrow. We played earlier โ€” and Iโ€™m sure weโ€™ll play it again tomorrow as a part of this Rand Paul. Senator Rand Paulโ€™s gonna join us. And weโ€™re gonna be discussing some of the dishonesty that is occurring at a high rate. Even in Washington, D.C., a city built on hot air, thereโ€™s an unprecedented amount of hot air, I think, thatโ€™s blowing right now.

BUCK: I also wanted to throw this out there for everybody, just a little bit of a compare-and-contrast here. Weโ€™ve got the insurrection and people being held in solitary for months who committed no violent crime nor were in process of a violent crime because of their role on January 6th. Meanwhile, you had here in New York City, Clay, two Ivy League-educated lawyersโ€ฆ Remember this one back during that?

CLAY: Yeah.

BUCK: It was a year ago, back during the actual insurrection on the streets of America with BLM, who firebombed a police cruiser with a Molotov cocktail. Itโ€™s notably a weapon of war, folks, because itโ€™s named for Molotov by the Finns who were fighting against the Soviet invasion of their country during World War II.

But I would just note that these two, Clay, are on video bombing the car, firebombing the car โ€” there are police officers who saw them do it โ€” and yet theyโ€™re taking this to trial. Theyโ€™re not taking a plea. Almost like maybe they think because they were BLM activists, theyโ€™re gonna get off.

CLAY: A jury wonโ€™t convict them โ€” and these are high-end, well-educated lawyers. I mean, I remember reading this story and being just in disbelief that anybody could be this crazy. And thatโ€™s the temperature of the country at the time that this was all going on. But you got guys who went in and took a picture in the Capitol that are going away to jail for nearly a year and not out on parole, not out on bail. This is crazy.

Clay and BuckBUCK: Both defendants, according to the Free Beacon here, face seven felony charges: Civil disorder, arson conspiracy, and a federal explosives charge. You take, as you well know, Clay.

CLAY: Thatโ€™s why I said โ€”

BUCK: I know from working on investigative side and you know from just the lawyerโ€™s side. You take a deal when youโ€™re facing those kinds of charges. The only way theyโ€™re rolling the dice is because they have top lawyers. The number one defense lawyer in some peopleโ€™s minds in New York City taking up the case. Iโ€™m sure pro bono, too, by the way, โ€™cause BLM โ€”

CLAY: And look. I donโ€™t have a problem with that. But it is funny to think about the way that that is being received compared to anybody who was representing Trump. I mean, Giuliani just lost his law license, at least has it suspended, and I think youโ€™re right. I think they are gonna throw themselves on the mercy of a woke jury and argue that they were fighting The Man, and they were trying to stand up for BLM. Itโ€™s like all these ridiculous protests that were okay as long as a protest was going on surrounding BLM. But nobody else could be out and about.

BUCK: One juror who thinks BLM hashtags and black squares on Instagram is more important than law and order โ€” and guess what? Theyโ€™re gonna walk.
