The Inflation Reduction Act Doesnโt

BUCK: So the Inflation Reduction Act doesnโt really reduce inflation.

Okay. (laughing) Itโs supposed to increase manufacturing and energy production. It wonโt do that, either. Other than that, great! Actually, no, thereโs even worse stuff that we could talk about. This is one issue where you see raising taxes on companies right now, what is likely to happen, specifically manufacturers? What has been the reality of you going to the grocery store? You say, โHey, youโre not allowed to raise the price of eggs 50%โ or whatever it is right now.
Eggs in particular, which I eat a lot of eggs, big eggs fan. Still bitter about the fact that in the eighties they were like, itโs gonna give you too much cholesterol. Lies. Lies. Eggs are excellent for you, fantastic food. It was the science then. I bet Fauci was like (impression), โDonโt eat eggs. Have a lot of margarine. Margarine is delicious and so good for you. Donโt worry the fact that it is actually chemical crap that is really bad for you because Iโm telling you to eat it.โ
Anyway, yeah. What happens when they raise the price of eggs at the market? Do you get to go up to the manager and say, โExcuse me, sir. But youโve raised the price of eggs.โ Now, you could go to another story, but guess what? You think the price of eggs really that much lower there? Hmm? These are commodities. These are things that people want to go and get. There are some distinctions about whether you get freeโฆ
I actually found this out recently. I think itโs pasture-raised is the best. I know there are people who raise their own chickens and ducks and geese and things like that who probably can โ but thereโs a lot of games they play with all these different egg designations that youโre gonna eat. I think the best one they say is you want it to beโฆ Is it free range? Right, is free range the best one? โCause thereโs some version theyโll say where, you know, theyโre actually notโฆ It makes it sound like the chickens are doing well.
But theyโre not, theyโre actually in a very enclosed space, and then thereโs another one, another designation where theyโre actually living, like, normal chicken lives. Anyway. Iโll look. Itโs kind of like people that are like, I only eat organic fruit. Yeah, but do you know what they put on the organic fruit? โCause โ just think about it this way. There are a lot of things that are organic that you donโt want to eat. You know. Mercury is organic. Arsenic is organic. A lot of things are organic you donโt want to eat.
Just because something is designated organic doesnโt mean that itโs something you necessarily want to put in your body. But the price, as you know, gets passed on to consumers when there are things like this, when there are raises in an industry that are going to affect everybody. Karine Jean-Pierre, economics PhDโฆ Just kidding, although you didnโt need me to explain that she doesnโt have a PhD in economics.
Not that that would even really matter. Be honest. A lot of PhD in economicsโฆ Paul Krugman says, โThe economy is so good; thatโs why inflation is high. Bidenโs so amazing.โ It just must be weird to go through life as a professional econ court jester now for the Democrat regime. Kind of sad in some ways. Here is Karine Jean-Pierre, though. That was talking about Krugman. Hereโs Karine Jean-Pierre. I cannot speak as to whether the tax hikes will increase prices.
REPORTER: โHow confident is the president that the companies will not pass that cost [in the Bidenflation Scam] on to people in the form of higher prices?โ
KARINE JEAN-PIERRE: โI cannot speak to thatโ pic.twitter.com/6IQkPQAWGr

BUCK: Yeah. Not a surprise that she doesnโt know. But the answer is, yes, people will end upโฆ What are these companies? Who is paying? Also, why donโt they name them more often? Letโs know. What are the companies that theyโre gonna now raise taxes on? Because whatโs going to happen as a result of that? Youโre seeing prices rising all around you. Youโre seeing this happening. Youโre feeling this going on right now in your day-to-day lives. And Democrats think that somehow, they have a better handle on where this capital should be allocated. In fact, here isโฆ Do you guys remember Senator Michael Bennet? Remember this guy? Heโs a big Green New Deal guy. He says this inflation act will put us on a path to energy independence.
BENNET: It really is amazing moment in the United States Senate. Weโre finally, finally doing the work the American people sent us to do. We think about the CHIPS Act that we passed last week thatโs gonna bring back semiโ the semiconductor industry to the United States. You think about the tax act we passed last night on veteransโ health care, and then the Inflation Reduction Act thatโs gonna โ gonna dramatically reduce health care costs for the American people and put us on the path to energy independence, strengthen our national security.
BUCK: Green energy, folksโฆ Just understand, green energy. How long do you think itโs gonna take to get to green energy independence? โCause thatโs really what the act does. Itโs gonna subsidize a bunch of Green New Deal stuff. It is outrageous, my friends. But this is what they do. This is who they are.
