Senator Tim Scott Refutes Racist Janet Yellen on Abortion
11 May 2022
CLAY: As the summer is starting to get closer and closer, Buck, the Democrats are turning up the heat. And what theyโre recognizing, I think, is abortion isnโt going to be the Hail Mary that they thought it was. Itโs not going to save them from electoral oblivion this November, and thatโs because their abortion position is so extreme. And some of you out there are saying, โHey, Iโm not sure whether Iโm seeing this yet.โ
Iโm telling you what youโre going to see is the argument that is already occurring, which is, โItโs not about Roe v. Wade. Itโs that your contraception is in danger,โ which is a lie. Itโs that gay people in classrooms is in danger, what Joe Biden tried to argue, which is a lie. They are building extremism in because theyโre recognizing that most people think, โHey, abortion shouldnโt be legal in the seventh, eighth, or ninth month.โ
And theyโre trying to make Republicans seem like extremists. I gotta give credit here. Thereโs also an underlying element that I think is pretty substantial of abortion โ letโs be honest โ thatโs actually racist. The eugenics movement that was much of the basis for abortion and Planned Parenthood back in the day, kind of jumped right into public view here during testimony in the Senate with Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina who confronted Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on the issue of abortion. If you havenโt heard this audio yet, just listen.
This is quiet the counterpunch from Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina.

BUCK: Good moment for Senator Scott there.
CLAY: Yeah.
BUCK: Really made the point powerfully, I think, for everybody to hear, which is that thereโs something obtuse and evil in many of the arguments that are being made right now.
CLAY: And super racist.
BUCK: Super racist.
CLAY: Did you hear Janet Yellen there? This is one of the lines that I think George W. Bush got so right, Buck: โThe soft bigotry of low expectations.โ It was oozing out of her commentary there.
BUCK: I mean, people should know โ and they donโt; by the way, this is not denied; this is not contended or contentious โ the founder of Planned Parenthood was Margaret Sanger.
CLAY: Yep.
BUCK: An absolute eugenicist, believed in eugenics, believed in limiting what she deemed, quote, โundesirablesโ and spoke to the womenโs auxiliary of the Ku Klux Klan in New Jersey to generate support for her movement. She supported the Supreme Courtโs 1927 the discussion, Buck v. Bell, which allowed for the sterilization of people who were deemed unfit, without their consent. She was a horrible human being. Okay?
CLAY: Yeah.
BUCK: And this is the founder of Planned Parenthood. She was a vile racist, and if you look, even on Planned Parenthoodโs site, youโll see this stuff, Clay. Theyโve had to say, โYeah, okay, she was an awful eugenicist, but she did so much to liberate women.โ Does anyone elseโฆ? Just put this into context for a second, does anyone else in conversation in public discourse these days get that kind of, โOh, but they actually did something we really like so weโll forget that other stuffโ?
CLAY: No. Of course not.
BUCK: Absolutely not. Weโre supposed to remove busts of Thomas Jefferson but Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthoodโฆ
CLAY: They did.
BUCK: And they do, right.
CLAY: In your own city.
BUCK: They did in New York City. Thatโs what Iโm thinking of. And Margaret Sanger was a vile human being who believed in destroying undesirable babies. This is reality, folks. And they still celebrate her and her movement. Itโs pretty outrageous and appalling when you actually look into the history.
CLAY: Speaking of which, by the way, I went to George Washington University in Washington, D.C., Buck. Did you see that theyโre trying to strip George Washingtonโs name from George Washington University? There was an editorial in the Washington Post about it which is amazing, because is the Washington Post, therefore, calling for the removal of the word โWashingtonโ in their newspaper name?
And remember, Buck, when everybody said Donald Trump was crazy when he said theyโre not gonna stop with Confederate statues; if youโre gonna try to tear down the statues of Robert E. Lee or Stonewall Jackson or James Longstreet or any of these Confederate generals, then eventually theyโre gonna come for Thomas Jefferson and George Washington. All the left-wing libs were like, โOh, Donald Trump is so out to lunch there. This is such a slippery-slope argument. Thereโs no way thatโs gonna happen.โ Itโs happened.
