NY Times Poll: GOP Leads Generic Ballot, Biden Approval Down
17 Oct 2022
We’ve all become used to not believing polls, especially after the Trump-Hillary race in 2016, but when the polls from left-wing outlets like the New York Times start swinging in the GOP favor, you know that this election could be bigger than just a wave.
According to the Times, the GOP leads the generic ballot.
Republicans gain strength in generic ballot, leading Democrats 49% to 45%, a change from last month when Democrats held a 1-point lead in @nytimes @SienaResearch poll. @ShaneGoldmacher https://t.co/GinN18X8ry

Biden’s approval is down to 39%.
New NYT poll: Biden job approval 39%. GOP +4 in generic ballot. Most important issue: Economy/inflation 44% Abortion 5%. Trump 45 Biden 44 in 2024 matchup. https://t.co/IJlyEXz8vH

And this is the big one: Independent women have swung to Republicans in a big way, this despite the abortion ruling that Democrats were convinced would save them.
“The biggest shift came from women who identified as independent voters. In September, they favored Democrats by 14 points. Now, independent women backed Republicans by 18 points”

It’s looking more and more like we’ll be celebrating a Red Tsunami on election night. Twenty-two days to go.
