Kentucky Tornado Victim: We Need Help

17 Dec 2021

BUCK: Let’s get some of your calls, though. We have Scott in Dawson Springs, Kentucky. Scott, how are you doing?

CALLER: I’m doing… I’m doing what I can. I’m at the church right now trying to help with supplies and everything. (sigh) I just wanted to kind of give you guys the heads-up about my town. It’s almost been completely destroyed. Two houses down from me, there’s nothing left. Me and my kids, thankfully, made it out safe. We have been trying to find people since last Friday, last Saturday.

We’ve been trying to get power back on for everybody. And I just want to kind of go over about the Biden’s little photo-op that he had when he came here. He was here for literally 30 minutes. They shut down the entire town for five hours, made everybody stop doing what they’re doing. Time… Time is very precious over here, and they completely shut everything down. Nobody wanted him here.

We have 15% Democrat voters here. Nobody wanted him here. They had to shut everything down. They cherry-picked the two Democrats that live here so he can walk around and then (snort) the guy goes around sniffing and hugging all the children. I’m not even exaggerating… (chokes up) I’m sorry. I’m a little rattled. (sigh) I tried to put this out on Twitter, and I get a text from every angle telling me that the people of this town don’t deserve any help whatsoever because we’re in Kentucky; we’re all Republicans. I mean, like —

CLAY: Well, Scott, first of all, you deserve all of the help that anybody can give you.

CALLER: (crosstalk)

CLAY: I know that it’s an incredibly stressful time for everybody. What could people do who are listening right now to help the victims of the tornadoes all over the Kentucky region and your neighborhood and your city and your town? What can people do?

CALLER: Donations. Like Glenn Beck says, give until it hurts, because we’re really suffering really bad down here. I believe there’s about 88 people still unaccounted for, and that’s why we’re so mad at Biden. We’re trying to dig through rubble, people are trying to find their personal belongings, pictures that mean everything to ’em. I mean, there’s no houses left in some areas, and you can’t recognize any of my town. It’s horrible.

It’s the worst thing I’ve ever gone through in my entire life, and this butthead wants to come here and shut the entire thing down just so he could take some pictures and sniff children! I mean… (sigh) I’m beside myself, and it’s really hard for me to talk right now. I’m extremely rattled. But I really wanted to get the true story out because all these news reports are saying that we welcomed him with open arms, and that is just not the case. We did not want him to come here!

CLAY: Scott, thank you for the call. Again, anybody who can help Dawson Springs, Kentucky, or the area, there are many people overwhelmed in desperate need of all of your help as we move closer and closer to the holiday season and so many people all over Kentucky and beyond have lost everything they have. So, if you can help out, please do.

CALLER: Yeah.

CLAY: RedCross.org I know has a lot of different places you can give. There are many different locations where you can donate out there. I’m just giving one. Google it, make your efforts as best you can.

BUCK: Thoughts and prayers — good. Sending some help — also good.
