Herschel Walker Vows to Keep Fighting for Georgia

BUCK: All right, Herschel Walker, everybody, as you know, is heading into a pivotal runoff for the Senate in Georgia. Herschel, appreciate you making the time.

WALKER: Hello there. How are you guys doing?

BUCK: We’re good, Herschel. We just want to hear about what the ground game is, what the plan is, ‘cause, sir, big expectations here. We got to get it done. How does it happen?

WALKER: Well, the way we get it done is we gotta get back to the ground game, get back into our game. And what I mean by that is showing the people, “Do they have less money in their pocket? Do they feel less safe in less than two years? Do they feel like their utility bill is going up?” Because this is all because of Senator Warnock? And if that’s how they feel and they’re okay with it, you vote for him. But if you want something new, I’m the man for them because I will represent them when I go to Washington. I think Senator Warnock went to Washington and represented Joe Biden. That’s the reason we’re in the mess we’re in right now. And I want to help clean this up. In a way, you do it about bringing people together, not by separating people. He’ll continue to go out and want to separate people. And I think that’s the problem we have, is everyone wants to separate rather than come up with a solution of how to fix things.

CLAY: Yeah. Herschel, appreciate you coming on. I was glad and honored to be a part of your final rally before the election in Cobb County down there on Monday night, saw this news and was super appreciative and gratified by it. Brian Kemp, who won by eight points at least over Stacey Abrams — wasn’t a very good election for Stacey Abrams, big win for him — he now is coming in and helping with his team and his apparatus that won so big in Georgia to help you win this runoff. What does the governor’s help mean? What does his team’s help? I mean, what can you tell us about that?

WALKER: But government help is going to mean a great deal because one of the things that everyone needs to recognize and understand is you want to have the governor doing his work here in Georgia. Then you want to have someone on the federal level doing the work that they’re working together. You can’t have two people rowin’ (garbled cell) and one of them is rowing left and the other one is rowing right, ‘cause it’s not going to go anywhere. You got to have both people working together. So, as he’s doing all this work that he’s been doing here in Georgia, I can be doing it in Washington on the federal front.

That’s better for the Georgian people. And that’s the way you get things done, is by working together, coming together, because there’s many things the governor wanted to do but Senator Warnock stood in between or always stood back and let the president destroy what the governor wanted to do. Well, I can promise I’m always going to fight for the Georgian people, because everyone here — my family and I — see what’s happened and I see how people are hurting, and I want to come in and help. I want to come in and do what I can to help everyone.

BUCK: We’re speaking to Herschel Walker. He’s running for Senate in Georgia, obviously this critical runoff. And, Herschel, Donald Trump obviously supported you heavily in the early days here and pushed for your candidacy from the start. Are you planning to…? Have you had discussions already with how the former president will also be involved and help, or are you going to focus primarily on working with the Kemp campaign and keep it local to Georgia?

WALKER: Well, what I’m working on is keeping this local to Georgia. This is about Governor Kemp. This is about the Georgia people. This is about we win this for the Georgia people. You know, I want President Trump to do whatever he can to help us. But right now — and I told people when I started this race — this is about Herschel Walker fighting for Georgia. And if I fight alone, I will fight alone, because Georgia people deserve someone that’s going to think about them and not think about Washington and not think about California, not think about New York, but think about the Georgia people — and that’s what I’m about. You know, I want President Trump to do what he’s going to do. But what I’m going to do is fight for the Georgia people.

CLAY: Hershel, you’ve had a chance now to look over the numbers. I know the Libertarian candidate is gone, so this will be a head-to-head race between you and Warnock. He was not able to get over 50% as an incumbent. I think that’s a really bad sign for him. What parts of the state have you been able to look at and say, “Boy, we got to do a better job in the runoff in this particular location”? How strategic is your plan now as you look towards December 6th when this runoff will happen?

WALKER: Well, you know what it is is I say, “I want every vote for Herschel Walker,” and what I want to do is I don’t think the people got the message yet. I’m fighting for the soul of this state, the soul of America. Because when you look at what they’re doing to America, they’re put in second. What they’re doing to America, they’ve given up our energy. What they’re doing to America, they’re making us less safe. That is a problem. And I think we need to recognize that when they start talking about taking your religious freedoms away, taking your right to speech away, when they start taking away your guns, when they start taking away the freedoms and liberties so many people have died for.

I think there’s a problem, and that’s what I want people to know, that I want us to get back to where we were before that. There’s no doubt we got aways to go, but we can’t go the way we’re going by going backwards. Well, what Senator Warnock wants to do is continue to bring us backwards. When you have someone on a pulpit that’s saying America needs to apologize for whiteness or what the problem America has is racism, you’re only trying to divide people. And I’m sorry, you know, we have our problems here, but we can solve the problem together. I think — and the way I look at it is — if I or only one of us can go through the door, none of us go through the door. I want us all to go through the door together. We got to get this done together. So you can’t… The law is only good for one person; it’s good for nobody. The law has got to be good for everybody.

BUCK: Herschel Walker, everybody. He’s in a in a very, I can’t overstate how important this Senate race is for Senate control, and it looks like that’s going to be the case. You got one more for him, Clay? Go ahead.

CLAY: No, I was just going to say, Herschel, there’s going to be so much money that needs to be raised. This is going to be one of the most expensive runoff races that has ever existed, if not the most expensive. Where can people go if they want to help you in this race? And certainly, let me know when and where and I’ll come down. I’m happy to speak for you again and then help out — and I know Buck as well — in any way that we can. But for people out there listening right now, what can they do to help you in this runoff?

WALKER: Well, thank you. Thank you for bringing that up, because this is going to be one of the most expensive races ran. And they think that they can buy this seat. You know, they have outraised me almost 4 to 1, and I’ve been one of the top fundraisers on the Republican side. And at the same time, you know, he spent $100 million against me already, and we’re still in this fight. Well, people can go to TeamHerschel.com and contribute. And I would tell you right now, Georgia is not for sale. Georgia’s not for sale because we’re good people here.

And he’s showing you who he is. As Maya Angelou said: When somebody show you who they are, you believe them. He’s shown us that he’s not going to fight for us. He’s shown us who he is. He’s a hypocrite. So I want people to go to TeamHerschel.com and let him know Georgia is not for sale. Georgia is not New York. Georgia is not California. We’re good people here and we’re going to stay together. And I told them, “I’m Georgia born, Georgia bred, and when I die, I’ll be Georgia dead.” That’s the reason I’m running for this election.

CLAY: Herschel Walker, get it done, my man. See you soon.

WALKER: Thank you.

CLAY: Now that it’s going to be an expensive race, if you can help out, please do so.
