DESANTIS: First of all, November job report nationally about 200,000 jobs nationwide. In Florida alone in November we did over 50,000 new jobs created in Florida. So, that’s over 25% of the total job output just in one state. My budget is about $99.7 billion. I mean, you mentioned New York. New York’s budget’s like $230 billion. And yet I think most people that come here would say we have better road, infrastructure, services, our K-12 schools perform higher, we have the number-one rated public university system in the country. And we do all that with no state income tax and in fact have the lowest per capita tax burden in the country, and we have over $15 billion in surplus revenue.
BUCK: I mean, Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida isn’t just taking a much deserved victory lap. It’s as though he’s just spiking the football in the other team’s end zone running up into the stands and, you know, high-fiving all of his buddies. This is what happens when you make good decisions. Welcome back to the Clay and Buck show. I want to be hopeful here as well. There are better ways. We are seeing it, and we’re gonna continue to see it. There are people who have been wrong in how they have, in positions of authority, whether it’s in the media or in the government, approached the last now almost two years.
They’ve just been wrong time and again. They have not given deference to individual freedom, to the Constitution, to human liberty, to facts, to data. They have pushed based upon their lust for power and their anxiety disorder that was largely created as a weapon against Trump in 2020, they’ve refused to listen to reason. But there are better times ahead, and there are better places to be than what you’re seeing right now in places like New York City and Los Angeles, Boston, D.C., the Democrat-controlled cities are deteriorating very rapidly.
And the population flow and the economy is showing all of this. Why is Florida right now doing as well as it is? Because leadership matters, because Ron DeSantis as the governor has created a bulwark of freedom in an increasingly insane, commie-driven America, especially under the Biden regime, right? That’s what we’re seeing play out. And so we know that it can be better. It doesn’t have to be what you’re seeing with all the propaganda coming out of this White House and they’re all so upset about the Build Back Better agenda. Just more free stuff. Trillions of dollars of free stuff. But it doesn’t work that way. It’s not free. It always comes from somewhere. Just because it makes them feel good the libs can’t suspend the laws of basic economies, of supply and demand. Inflation is always a government and monetary policy problem. This is not something that comes out of nowhere. It’s a function of math. And while Democrats can pretend that they don’t understand the math or they say math is racist or whatever, at the end of the day the results will be in; and we are seeing it right now.
And I am hoping, as we get close to the end of this year, that next year we all understand it is absolutely essentially to take this as far as we possibly can with the, not just defeat of, but the repudiation, the political and ideological annihilation of what we’ve been put through for now the entirety of the covid pandemic. Yeah, there was of course Trump in charge for year one of the pandemic; but they pushed a lot of lunacy and a lot of lies in order to get Trump out. And we were dealing with the undermining of police and BLM and the mask mania and Fauciism and all of this because they took this as a crisis that was really an opportunity. All along you’ve seen this. So we can say enough is enough, and I think look at is a vision of that.
They know that that’s not going to be enough to stop the spread. And we have to just remind ourselves there are better ways and there are better times ahead. We are right. More people are figuring that out. And that’s the good thing, you know. And for those of you in New York I know I’ve been giving a tough time here for my WOR family listening all across the Tri-State area but at least de Blasio’s gone out of New York City at the end of this year. It’s a Christmas miracle. Yay. And I think Eric Adams will be better. I can’t promise you. Maybe I should say I hope. I don’t know if I could say I think. I hope he will be better. We shall see.
