Elon Musk Shares His Vision for Twitter

BUCK: Elon Musk was, in fact, at the Met Gala. He’s the richest guy in the world, so I guess if you’re having a gathering of fancy people, he’s pretty fancy. And here’s what he said. I was just speaking about free speech and the battle for it that is underway in this country. Here is Elon at the Met Gala. Guys, my invite lost in the mail, maybe, you know?
We gotta get a better mail sorting system here ’cause the Buckster was not invited to Anna Wintour’s Met Gala. What a shame. But here’s Elon. They saw how I cut up a rug; they want me back every year. They can’t even handle all these funky moves. Here is Elon sharing his vision for Twitter.

BUCK: Sounds great to me. But if you listen to the libs, he’s gonna destroy the world. This is the vision that Twitter was essentially founded on. This is the part of it you have to remember. A lot of these companies, whether it’s Disney or Twitter, they are built with a certain promise. They are built with an complicit understanding with either the audience or the user.
And then when they get big enough and powerful enough, they change their mind. “Yeah, not gonna do that anymore, and what are you gonna do about it?” That’s the attitude. Certainly, is the attitude of the social media platforms. If you look 10 years ago, they were all Facebook and Twitter, all about, “Yeah, it’s the open internet, man! Free speech, man.” Not anymore. Now it’s “How dare you say that that man is a man! Appalling. Not allowed to say that.”
