BUCK: We were talking about AOC a moment ago, and she was critical of Governor Ron DeSantis, tweeting out that while Florida’s going through a covid surge, he’s been missing in action. “Hasn’t Governor DeSantis been inexplicably missing for like two weeks,” she wrote, while she’s in Florida, mind you, fleeing her home of New York where I am. I also left, but I tell everybody to leave. (laughing) I tell everybody New York City’s crazy right now, and she tweets this out.
It turns out, Clay — you saw this — Ron DeSantis was with his wife who’s diagnosed with breast cancer and is trying to beat cancer right now. So Democrats immediately jumped to, “He’s reckless! He’s missing in action!” I think our friend Matt Walsh from The Daily Wire very astutely pointed out, notice the double standard here.
You have Pete Buttigieg, who has to recover from the adoption process, apparently, for the two twins with two months ago of parental leave, and that’s okay and that’s fine, while we’re going through a crisis. But the governor of Florida, whose state is an exemplar for the rest of the country, helping his wife get through cancer? That’s not something the Democrats ever stop and think about. It’s just another attack plan.
CLAY: Not only that, how about Joe Biden is on vacation, too, in Delaware walking around in such a pathetic photo-op with his new dog wearing a mask outdoors with his wife on the beach? That’s worse to me than Dukakis and the tank. If I’m running ads for 2022, this guy said he was gonna shut down covid, and he’s so pathetic and impotent in his power right now that he’s walking around on the beach in a mask outdoors.
