Remember when everybody said that referring to covid as coming from China was racist? Remember how that argument just got started? Despite the fact that we’ve long referred to viruses by where we have them initially arise, that’s geographically common, whether it’s something simple like Ebola or whether it’s the Spanish flu — which didn’t actually, it appears, originate in Spain.
Whether it is all these different viruses, many of them are connected to the place where we initially became aware that they existed. Well, we were told that was racist when Trump was referring to this as being from Wuhan or also as saying that maybe, potentially it had come out of a lab in China or the China virus or whatever it was.
