Did DeSantis Do It? Blue States Have Highest Covid Rates
14 Dec 2021
CLAY: I want to say this, Buck. Weโre talking about covid and how much of a difference there is. I donโt know that thereโs ever been a time when there was a more substantial difference between states. Letโs say youโre on a plane. You land in Florida and youโre from New York or you hop on a plane in California, and you fly to Texas where when you get off that plane or vice-versa, there is a seismic difference in what life feels like.
The red states are free. The blue states are locking down and the blue cities, and the media is continuing to be wildly dishonest. Iโm gonna keep hammering on this โcause Iโm a red state guy. I live in the SEC footprint. Iโm born and raised here. Buck, during the summer the media was out there crushing Texas and Governor Greg Abbott, crushing Florida and Governor Ron DeSantis.
Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi โ all these different Southern states โ Arkansas, Missouri, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia. Iโm trying to fit you all in there. Kentucky, too. Missouri. All of these states had massively high Delta variant cases, and what did the media say? โLook at those stupid rednecks!โ Iโve been called a stupid redneck my whole life โcause Iโm born and raised in Nashville and every Southerner knows that feeling.
We get talked down to โcause we live in the red states. All of the mainstream media โ New York, L.A., all the elites โ were saying, โLook at these stupid, ignorant, redneck Trump voters. Theyโre all gonna die! All they need to do is be vaccinated and this story would go away.โ All of the red state focus, all of the social and intellectual capital rained down upon us and we were all stupid.
Listen to this right now, Buck. The top states for covid infections: New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Maine, Michigan, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont. The top seven states all voted for Joe Biden. They have by far the highest rates in the entire country โ and, by the way, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware are the next three after Indiana. Of the top 11, only one state is a red state that has the highest rate of covid right now. Are the people in the blue states being blamed at all for the covid rates? No. It isnโt occurring anywhere, Buck.
BUCK: Thereโs a reason for that, Clay. Governor Ron DeSantis must be super tired from running around to all those blue states and doing whatever he does to spread the covid ,because I remember last summer when we were told that Ron DeSantis was responsible for every covid case, every covid hospitalization and death in his state of Florida. So he must be responsible for it everywhere else!
And obviously, folks, itโs insane, right? What they were doing then is just propaganda for Democrats. Even with health and lies at stake, it didnโt make a difference. They did not care. The narrative was more important, because Clayโs point here is irrefutable. Clay, I would invite anyone anywhere from any network โ or just somebody who thinks they can make the case โ to explain why covid in the summer of 2021 in Florida is that governorโs fault but in New York, cases are skyrocketing, and itโs not Governor Hochulโs fault? In California, itโs not Governor Newsomโs fault? Why is that? They donโt even pretend to have an answer.
CLAY: Itโs such a transparent lie and falsehood, and youโll hardly hear it discussed anywhere. I wanted to make sure we hit it.
