DeSantis’ All-Time Response to Elon Musk’s Support
15 Jun 2022
CLAY: I think the future where we are headed for — I think, Buck, you agree with me — is a Donald Trump-versus-Ron DeSantis battle for the nomination. I know there are gonna be multiple people running for the Republican nomination, but I think that’s where we’re headed. And Elon Musk, who is trying to buy Twitter — richest man in the world — tweeted yesterday that he was going to probably be supporting Ron DeSantis for president in 2024.
Now, Ron DeSantis hasn’t announced. He’s got to first… I know a lot of people listening to us in Florida don’t want him to leave, but he’s gotta first win in his governor’s race, which is going to be in November. We don’t even know who his opponent is yet. But DeSantis was asked about the Elon Musk support, and he had an all-time response. Remember kind of tipping it off here a little bit, Elon Musk is originally from South Africa. Enjoy.
DESANTIS: You know, I’m focused on 2022. But with Elon Musk what I would say is, you know, I welcome support from African-Americans. What can I say?

CLAY: So if you, again, Elon Musk is legitimately an African-American, born in South Africa, and has since emigrated to the United States. That is an all-time line from Ron DeSantis.
