Democrat Katie Porter: Prices Are Up, So Itโs Time to Kill Babies
12 May 2022
CLAY: Katie Porter made the argument that inflation is up; we need โ as a result of inflation being up โ even more abortions now than ever before. This is a real argument made by a real person who was elected to Congress. Listen.
Democrat Rep. Katie Porter claims #Bidenflation โreinforce[s]โ the โneedโ for abortion.
โThe fact that weโre seeing this jump in expenses โฆ pay more at the grocery store, pay more at the pump, pay more for housing is a reasonโ for abortion. pic.twitter.com/jVjuzXRhPz

BUCK: Clay, I donโt think that โgas prices are up, so itโs time to kill the babiesโ is a good slogan.
CLAY: Midterm strategy?
BUCK: A good strategy for Democrats. Does this woman realize what sheโs actually saying? โThe price of meat is up so, like, you know, maybe you needโฆ?โ We just heard her! โThe price of milk and beef is up; so maybe you need some more abortions.โ What is wrong with these people?
CLAY: Here is what I would say. There are lots of Republican staff, thereโs lots of people as the midterms get closer โ and we need to make this a reckoning on covid which, by the way, we mentioned Bidenโs trying to circulate back up. Theyโre arguing thereโs gonna be a hundred million new covid cases. All the failures there. But based on the vote we had yesterday in the Senate, Buck, what needs to happen โ and what you just heard from Katie Porter and everybody else thatโs making arguments like these.
We need to just ask a basic question. And it is a big and significant question, and there are many different answers that people could give. But when does a baby begin to have rights in a world? Because based on the Senate vote, the Democrat perspective right now is never. You can get an abortion up to nine months of pregnancy, basically even right before you go into labor.
BUCK: So Democrats are advocating for the right to kill a baby.
CLAY: In my opinion. Full stop.
BUCK: Full stop.
CLAY: In my opinion. In my opinion people can โ again we can have all sorts of debates about this โ
BUCK: Weโre talking to eighth, ninth month, I donโt know if thereโs a debate there. I wonder what that debate is.
CLAY: I think itโs murder, right?
BUCK: Yeah.
CLAY: And it would be murder under virtually every state statute which is why I take the conversation outside of abortion and just say, โHey, if a pregnant mom in the eighth or ninth month of her pregnancy was shot and as a result the baby also died, thatโs a double murder charge. Thatโs two murders.โ Okay? So when does that baby begin to have rights? Iโd like to hear Democrats answer that question. โNeverโ appears to be the official perspective of their party.
BUCK: But just to be clear, you had an elected member of Congress there arguing on national TV that, yeah, you know, inflation being higher just shows that you need to be able to have abortion. That was the argument. Yellenโs argument just a couple of days ago which Senator Tim Scott obviously took exception to โ
CLAY: It was racist.
BUCK: โ which was, oh, well, you know, low income and minority individuals need to be able to have abortions โcause they, you know, they wonโt be able to be in a position to financially have a child.
CLAY: I think she specifically said black women, which is even crazier. Weโll have to go back. Iโm pretty sure, Buck, she wasnโt just saying low-income people. I think she specifically said black women need to be able to not have to have their children, and then Tim Scott fired back and said, โWell, Iโm glad my black mother made the choice to have me.โ
BUCK: I think your recollection is correct, by the way, yeah.
CLAY: I mean, that audio was so racist, like, if you listen to it. Yeah.
BUCK: Thatโs the Treasury secretary! This is a member of Congress. Listen to the arguments that these people are making, folks. And then think about who on the pro-life side is saying anything crazy? Nobody! Itโs all reasonable.
CLAY: And thatโs my point. The dogmaticism, if that is a word, is occurring almost exclusively on the Democrat side of the abortion argument.
