CLAY: You’ve heard me talk a lot on this program about how to persuade the persuadable. The truth of the matter is, Joe Biden’s gonna talk tonight. Forty percent of Americans are going to believe everything he says because they bought into the idea already of what Joe Biden is selling. So, the actual results don’t matter to them because they’re focused on their team.
They’re not looking at 9% inflation. The fact that 9% inflation, effectively, is not the biggest story every day in America is pure balderdash — and 40-year-high inflation — and the Biden administration is sending Janet Yellen out to talk about how strong the overall economic situation is. I mean, this is madness on an epic scale, and they are lying so regularly that many people believe it. We started off the show today talking about the front page of New York Times.
It says, “Oh, kids lost a lot of their learning because of the pandemic,” and note what they are arguing there: “Because of the pandemic.” No, no, no. Do not allow that argument to take any root at all. The reason why kids lost was because Democrats — Democrat governors, Democrat mayors — made the disastrous decision to shut down schools and continue to advocate for them to be shut down. So, what I want you all to be able to do is I want you to talk to persuadable people.
There’s 20% of people out there, at least, who don’t really have strong political allegiances, who are convincible when it comes to making decisions in Pennsylvania and Arizona and Georgia and Wisconsin and Nevada and Arizona, New Hampshire, states where the Senate is going to be determined, you need to have good talking points. And one of those talking points that I believe you should be driving with is leading with, every mom out there listening to us right now, you need to be talking to all of your mom friends about what Democrats did to your kids, what they put you through.
Moms overwhelmingly bore the brunt of responsibility for kids not being in school. I know it happened at my house, and I know it turned my wife into an ardent Republican voter just based on what they did during covid. And I know that happened to a lot of women out there who were furious over what Democrats did to your kids, over what they did to your families. Last year, Glenn Youngkin made this the centerpiece of his campaign in 2021, and he’s the governor now. And the lieutenant governor office and the attorney general’s office, they all flipped. And I look around now sometimes, and I’m really disappointed in Republicans’ ability to make this argument because it’s as if everyone forgot what happened in 2021 and isn’t aware of how compelling that argument is.
CLAY: Donald Trump’s not on the ballot. Democrats — make no mistake. The purpose of the Mar-a-Lago raid was to try to put Donald Trump on the ballot. Donald Trump may be on the ballot in 2024, and we’re gonna have plenty of time to figure out who the Republican nominee is going to be. But midterms are a referendum on the party in power and on the president.
Joe Biden got elected president hiding in his basement trying to make all of 2020 a referendum on Donald Trump’s response to covid. Remember the lie, the big lie that he told all of us, which is, I’ll solve covid. He didn’t solve covid. He hasn’t made a heck of a difference at all. All he’s done is spend trillions of dollars and put us in the worst inflationary environment in 40 years. I’ve been saying it’s unfair to Jimmy Carter to even compare Joe Biden to him. Jimmy Carter was far more competent than Joe Biden.
So, I understand some people out there. That 20%, they may be a little bit nervous about Trump. Trump’s not on the ballot. I understand that people are obsessed with Trump. But Donald Trump is not on the ballot. Democrats are trying to turn Trump onto the ballot by raiding his house at Mar-a-Lago. You think it’s a coincidence that they waited 18 months to raid Mar-a-Lago?
They’ve been fighting with the National Archives over these documents for 18 months. If they were actually that dangerous, they would have gotten this resolved a long time. Now, this is an attempt to make people not focus on inflation, not focus on the border, not focus on the murder rate, not focus on the fact that Joe Biden has spent trillions of dollars for no results, that some kids are still having to wear masks nonsensically, that Joe Biden tried to fire every single person who wouldn’t the get a covid shot.
His positions are radical, and the Bidas Touch means that every single thing he has touched has turned to crap. So, what I would say to everybody out there who’s in this middle area like Christine just called talking about her Dad, I would say, look. Do you think Joe Biden is doing a good job? That’s what this election should be a referendum on, a simple question. Is Joe Biden doing a good job?
Overwhelmingly Americans say no. Well, if you answer the question, no, Joe Biden is not doing a good job, why would you give Joe Biden more ability to do a worse job? At a minimum we need a Republican House and a Republican Senate just to ensure that Joe Biden does no more harm. So, I would say to anybody out there who’s fired up about Trump and upset about Trump and that’s why they voted for Joe Biden, you can say, okay, you voted that way in 2020. What have you gotten? Is your life better right now in 2022 with Joe Biden in office?
The answer for almost everyone on an objective basis is no, it is not better. So, how in the world can you not make your midterm vote a referendum on Joe Biden? If you hate Donald Trump, hey, 2024, the primary season is gonna start next year. And we can see who ends up being the nominee then. But this election is not about Trump. Don’t allow yourself to be drawn into that battle, because Democrats know if they have to run on what they have done, they lose. If they run on “orange man bad,” then some people are going to come out as if Trump is on the ballot. That’s their gamble.
And so, what I would tell all of you is just simple never to your friends who are persuadable. Is your life better right now than it was before Joe Biden came into office? I don’t think very many people can say that it is. Joe Biden has done a disastrous job. The House Democrats have and the Senate ones have as well. The absolute bare minimum that we can do is ensure that Joe Biden does no more harm. And the way to ensure that is to have a Republican House and a Republican Senate. That is the pitch.
There need to be consequences for covid, for the border, for the murder rate, for the collapse of international affairs. All of those things are very real, and all of them are an indictable offense on behalf of Joe Biden. So, every time somebody tries to talk about Donald Trump with you, immediately pivot it to Joe Biden. Trump’s not in office. We can have that debate in 2024 if Trump runs again.
But 2022 is not about Trump. We’re two months out. It’s about Joe Biden and the disastrous leadership that he has provided in conjunction with Democrats. That is the pitch that all of you need to be taking out to all of your persuadable friends because we need a landslide in order to check the awfulness that is Joe Biden, the worst president in any of our lives.

CLAY: I think you’re gonna see a ton of momentum all over Big Ten and SEC country for Republican candidates. Because Republicans made schools stay open overwhelmingly. This is a study that I want to see. New York Times front-page story today about all the kids’ learning loss. You know where kids didn’t lose very much? Red states.
You know how Democrats claim that they’re the party of equity and inclusion and diversity and all that claptrap? Do you know that they shut down schools and overwhelmingly black and Hispanic and minority students were the biggest losers from shutting down schoolsd? So, the Democrats always to want talk about the right side of history.
In the most consequential moment of many of our lives, Democrats and their allies in the teachers’ union and Dr. Fauci and Rochelle Walensky, Deborah Birx and all that cavalcade of clowns, they shut down schools and ensured that the poorest among us were the biggest losers. So, we get a verdict one day in the years ahead for the right and wrong side of history.
You know those people who’ve been telling us Joe Biden is gonna tell us tonight, oh, everybody who votes for Donald Trump is on the wrong side of history? No, no, no, no. Democrats are on the wrong side of history for what they did with covid. And as the years go by, it’s going to become clearer and clearer that everybody who voted for Joe Biden was on the wrong side of history too. The thing you learn about history is it takes a while to render a verdict — 10, 20, 30 years.
Those of us who study history know that this idea that you know the right and wrong side of history instantaneously is rare, which is a sign of how big of a screw-up it was by Democrats to shut down schools all over this country because we’re already finding out that we saw learning loss that has never occurred in any of our lives because of Democrat policies, because of Democrat mayors, because of Democrat governors, and I just want to encourage everybody out there, yes, Joe Biden is on the ticket.
All of you moms out there, the yoga pants revolution, the Lululemon brigade as I called it, all of you need to be talking with your girlfriends, your fellow moms and saying, if we don’t send a message about what happened with covid, then there are no consequences here, and they will try to do it to our kids again. There needs to be a massive uprising of moms again.
You are the people who put Glenn Youngkin into office. You need to come out and you need to send a message to Joe Biden and Democrats everywhere. You were so strong, you almost flipped New-flipping-Jersey to the red camp. You can do it again. We need moms to rise up just like you were in the school boards, mama bears to protect your kids. Democrats have the wrong policies. They lied to you about masks. They lied to you about closures. You need to hold them accountable and ensure that they can never do it again.
