CNN’s ratings have tanked as they further abdicate their responsibility as journalists. For instance, when Vice President Kamala Harris made a perfunctory pitstop ten miles from the border, so-called reporters failed to challenge her boilerplate remarks or demand details of the supposed Biden-Harris plan to fix it.
Buck said, “Right now when Kamala goes to the border, on any issue of the Biden administration, there’s what does CNN really have to say? What does the New York Times have to tell people? ‘Forget about the problems, the deficiencies of the people in power right now. Let’s all just cry about masks and freak out about another insurrection.'”
Clay pointed out CNN’s desperation to find a story after four years of programming strictly on the supposed evils of Donald Trump and the “fear porn” of covid-19. Since Joe Biden took office, for example, Jake Tapper’s audience had plummeted by 75%.
“CNN has always been sort of in that squishy middle,” Clay pointed out.” Suddenly, they found a voice being opposed to Trump, and they have no idea what to say now.” Buck agreed, pointing out the credibility hit the network took after years of promoting the Russia collusion nonsense, imaginary threats that Trump would start World War III, and generally stoking panic.
“They’re blaming Trump for the border,” Buck said, “and now they’re even trying to say that Republicans are the reason that police were defunded. My friends, they will say anything to you. They simply do not care. The media is flailing in this current moment.”
