Clay & Buck Push Back on the Left’s July 4th Hate

“Fashionable anti-Americanism is a hallmark of the American left,” Clay lamented. “You don’t find this on the right, only the left.” Although patriotism, love, gratitude and that overall kumbaya feeling are included in old-fashioned, now almost fantasy definitions of July 4th – and certainly what Rush Limbaugh inspired and espoused for more than 30 years – Clay and Buck were disappointed to unearth a newer surprising theme. Hate for July Fourth, of course implying a broader homegrown hate for the nation, expressed on it 245th birthday.

Although disheartened, the attitude only strengthened the duo’s resolve. “I want to be even more pro-American at all times than I was before, just because of all of the people who aren’t!” Clay proclaimed. “Even in the way I dress, all kinds of things. I just want to push it in front of their faces.”

Buck noted that, although the reopening of America definitely made it feel this holiday weekend like “the return to freedom, where it finally felt like people could live their lives again,” the hatred from the left was palpable. Not only did he see it on the streets around him, like Clay did, but the viciousness was broadcast from those charged with leading our country.

C&B noted Representative Cori Bush’s (D-MO) astonishing animosity. In a tweet that went viral she slammed Independence Day, claiming: “This land is stolen land and Black people still aren’t free.” The BLM activist also alleged in her tweet, “When they say the 4th of July is about American freedom, remember this, the freedom they’re referring to is for white people.” Going with the attitudes of the times, “white” was lowercase in her tweet, while “Black” was uppercase.

Buck, with Clay in agreement, was shocked. Of Bush’s bashing tweet, Buck said, “This is stunningly, not just divisive, but it’s also just a dumb thing to say. I’m sorry. It’s just a wrong and a nasty thing to inject into our American society, on Independence Day weekend.”

In more national news that C&B thought disgraceful, the disgraced first-ever Black Miss America singer Vanessa Williams and PBS made anything but “America The Beautiful” amber waves when she performed the Black National Anthem (“Lift Every Voice And Sing”) in the heartily government-funded television network’s “Capitol Fourth” special on July 4th.

Some proud Americans, C&B pointed out, stood up for this country’s ideals. Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) refuted Bush’s attack of the U.S. George Foreman tweeted his love of the country, even including, “For about 54 years, people have asked me not to keep saying ‘I Love America.’ Well, I do and I’m not ashamed. Don’t leave it; love it. Happy 4th of July.”

The New York Post noted that Bush is a “far-left” politician. And others pointed out PBS’s seemingly always way-out lib stances. But C&B were alarmed by all they absorbed from the “fashionable anti-American” everyday left.

It takes a lot to stun lawyer Clay, who has spent many outspoken years as a media star, but what he read this Independence Day weekend about seemingly ordinary Americans did the trick. “What I read over the weekend, Buck, is saying basically the American flag has been considered, by a certain group of left-wingers, which I think is fairly substantial: Twenty-five, 30% of people, I think generally hate America.”
