BUCK: I don’t think her official title is “chief teachers union commissar,” but I think it should be.
CLAY: (laughing)
BUCK: I think it should be, and if we learned that she walks around, you know, saluting a portrait of the Kremlin, I would not be all that surprised. But, anyway, Randi Weingarten of the teachers union let everyone know what would be required, Clay, for her to finally say, “Okay. We can unmask the kids.” Stacey Abrams can walk around the school unmasked all day, that’s fine, but I tell you, kids have to stay masked until… Well, here’s what she said.
BUCK: Does she have access to the internet, Clay, or to newspapers? I have to wonder. First of all, zero covid transmission in schools ain’t gonna happen ever.
CLAY: For the rest of our lives!
BUCK: No one thinks that. So, she’s an idiot on that point. And then, if they’re 80% vaccinated, it is safe for the kids in the schools? The vaccines do not… Was she asleep for the last three months? You have to wonder.
CLAY: The stupidity is so overwhelming her, Buck, like we just said. For the rest of our lives it’s unlikely that there will ever be a zero covid era. In other words, kids and adults are likely to be spreading covid like they spread the flu and like they spread colds for the rest of our lives. And if you’re fired up about that, by the way, you should be blaming China (laughing) for all of the research they were doing which I think created this virus, right?
People can argue about how exactly covid came to be, but I think this is a human created virus, in my opinion, based on the data and science. But that’s at least arguable on some level. What is not arguable is that even by the standards that Randi Weingarten is trying to lay out here, Buck — as you just said — even if everybody in the entire school, every adult and every child were vaccinated, covid would still spread.
So she is relying upon such an antiquated idea. This is back in January and February and March, the idea that was out here. We started talking with you guys I think back in May, which was way before anybody else was saying it, before the CDC even talked about it, based on Israel and based on England, that the covid vaccine was not going to stop or prevent the spread, right?
So she is still arguing based on this idea that the vaccine — it’s the same stupid argument that Justice Breyer made when we were having the vaccine mandate case — that if you got the covid vaccine, it would stop spread. Frankly, that’s what Fauci and Biden and Rochelle Walensky and everybody inside of that administration argued, but it’s been proven to be false. And so the fact that she still believes it is embarrassing.
Why do we care what she says about when it’s safe to open schools? ‘Cause she’s the one who was part of the movement to get teachers paid to stay at home while kids suffered. She was part of the “children suffer for the benefit of lazy adults who I represent and vote Democrat.” That’s what she was doing all along. She pushed for school closures, and now we care what she thinks about masks — rather, the media cares what she thinks about masking — in schools? It’s all political, folks, it’s always about politics and always has been.
