CLAY: Joe Biden’s the accidental president. He’s Jimmy Carter 2.0 which actually is not fair to Jimmy Carter because Jimmy Carter was far more competent than Joe Biden. Jimmy Carter was at the peak of his political skills, whereas whatever you think of Joe Biden, just watch a clip of him talking 20 years ago, even watch a clip of him talking when he was vice president. He is so far down. He’s lost his fastball.
I’m not even sure he can still throw the ball. That’s how bad he’s gotten. And he’s also spreading lies that are designed to scare people. This is the last clip that I’m gonna play from his speech, but I do think it’s a significant one because essentially what he’s arguing is, oh, you’re gonna lose every right you have if these MAGA Republicans get their way. Listen to cut 20.
CLAY: Okay. Maybe I’ve missed it. Has anybody called for contraception to be restricted in the United States? Has Donald Trump come out and I said I don’t think I should be able to get birth control? I haven’t heard anybody in a major elected office as a Republican talking about that. That’s a lie, okay? It’s designed to create fear. Has anybody said that you shouldn’t be able to marry who you love?
You know what they tried to argue is, oh, Clarence Thomas is coming for your interracial marriage. Right. And then people said, you know, he’s married to a white woman. I’m not an expert on Clarence Thomas’s love life. I think it’s unlikely that Clarence Thomas believes that you shouldn’t be able to marry outside of your race when he married outside of his race. The arguments they make are so laughably absurd.
They’re not coming for — nobody is coming for contraception. Nobody is coming for your ability to marry whoever you want. These are lies. And if you have to exaggerate how dangerous a political movement is — I mean, think about what MAGA Republicans want. A secure border, fair elections. I’m reading — this is a good list from Greg Price. I saw this last night. The extreme MAGA agenda. Secure borders.
Oh, my goodness. Can you believe — you want the border to be secure? You don’t want just people to be able to walk across it? Fair elections. That seems kind of a big deal. I’d like to know that the election I vote in is not rigged. Ah, that doesn’t seem like an extreme agenda. Energy independence. I want us to produce more oil and gas in this country. Does that feel very extreme? When gas prices have gotten up to $5? Does it feel extreme to want more energy?
Are these extreme agendas? Believing that — guess what? — we need to have men competing against men in sports and women competing against women, and that a dude who decides to be a girl shouldn’t be the greatest swimmer of all time. That’s not a radical idea. We believe that women can get pregnant but not men.
We believe an awful lot of things that are not remotely extreme. In fact, Democrats are the one who have extreme ideas and extreme values. And when you break that down, it becomes apparent. Democrats were the ones who wanted to defund the police. Democrats were the ones who wanted your schools to remain shut down because it wasn’t safe enough for kids to be able to go there.
Joe Biden himself just spent potentially, according to Penn Wharton, a trillion dollars on student loan forgiveness, even though it’s not forgiveness. That’s what they’re trying to claim it is. It’s just you being responsible for the student loans instead of the person who took ’em out. Joe Biden tried to make every single one of you get a covid shot that we know doesn’t work and fired tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, probably even millions of people from jobs out there that they would otherwise have over supporting these covid shot requirements.
And we know, at a bare minimum, tons of soldiers who lost their jobs because they wouldn’t get a covid shot they didn’t need. Joe Biden tried to extend the eviction moratorium, take away your ability to make money off of your own property when you simultaneously still have to pay your mortgage and suddenly as a landlord you couldn’t choose what your tenants were forced to pay or not pay. I mean, all of this is extremely radical, by Joe Biden.
That’s the most democratic process imaginable. And it’s actually led to a more substantial abortion rights program being put in place in New York and California, for instance, Illinois. This is all craziness, that speech that he gave last night with the dark red background using the Marines as a prop. And increasingly Americans are seeing it more and more as we go forward.
