Biden Kicks Off 2024 Campaign with State of the Union Speech

On Tuesday night, President Biden laid out his promises, plans, and prevarications for America, demanding again and again that Republicans “finish the job,” a rehash of Barack Obama’s “more work to do.”

Clay & Buck broke down the speech clip by clip — as you can hear in the audio link atop this page in full. And also they had done the same on Twitter in real time.

If you doubt, as Buck said, that Biden will be a formidable candidate in 2024 despite all the dementia, remember John Fetterman was there last night as a U.S. senator.

Naturally, no Democrat speech would be complete without demonizing oil companies. But good news: Biden said we’re not going to need them anymore in ten years, which drew laughter from the chamber.

Another favorite false claim showed up: Republicans want to cut Social Security and Medicare because they hate all old people, not just Biden. There was pushback on this absurdity.

Biden ignored the threat from China, and said that nobody would want to change places with their all-powerful leader, which clearly came as a surprise to all the would-be statists watching — and those who know how many dictators exist.

Weirdest moment? Here:

What did you think of the oldest president’s speech and what it portends for his chances to make 2024, as Buck predicts, a close election?
