Assault of NYPD Officer Goes Viral, Attacker Released Without Bail

BUCK: The crime situation nationwide is a big issue, but also with Eric Adams here in New York City, supposed to clean up the city and get it back on track, and we should be seeing the crime going down year after year. Instead, recently, thanks to Democrats, progressive prosecutors, BLMโฆ BLM is remarkable, just made everything worse for everybody, made the crime situation worse for everybody too.
How do we turn all of this around? Well, thereโs this video that got a lot of attention, and we can probably post a link to it up at ClayandBuck.com. You can just see what members of the NYPD have to deal with. Someone who, I believe heโs 16 years old, and heโs just punching a cop in the face in an all-out wrestling match, essentially, and it looks like just a brawl.
Shocking video captured over the weekend in a Manhattan subway station shows youths brazenly brawling with NYPD officers. The male youth was recently arrested for illegal possession of a loaded gun & robbery, but was quickly released without bail. pic.twitter.com/IjUPZcivwi

And, Clay, the reason people got so upset about this, not only, of course, because an officerโs being assaulted just for trying to enforce the law, but also the guy was out right away. Right away. Let him out right away. Not being held. Heโs not. Theyโre not gonna charge him as an adult. Heโs gonna be out. Itโs gonna be no big deal in terms of how the justice system treats him. So even Eric Adams is calling for an emergency session of the state legislature โcause they gotta change the laws.
CLAY: If you assault a police officer โ Iโm curious what you think on this, Buck โ to me, you should have to go to prison for a minimum of a year. At a minimum, right? Like, if youโre on video punching and attacking a police officer, I donโt understand how you donโt have to go to prison for at least a year. Bare minimum. I donโt know what the officialโฆ But the idea that you could do that and be basically immediately let right back out onto the streets is indefensible, and we saw this certainly with the Lee Zeldin attack where he said, โAs soon as I get attacked, the guyโs gonna be back on the streets,โ and he was.
