BUCK: Our friend, Ann Coulter, is with us now. She is a 13-time New York Times best-selling author. Adios, America is one of my favorites, by the way. We’ll be talking immigration with her in a second. You can pick that one up. Still very good reading to this day. She has got a column out this week: In Historic First, 5’5″, 130-lb. Woman Confirmed to Supreme Court. That is up at AnnCoulter.com. Ms. Coulter, good to have you back.
COULTER: Great to be here.
BUCK: So, tell us about this, because you seem to notice something that I certainly did as well as I was getting text messages from NYPD — where I did for a brief period work myself — sources saying that the suspect is “a heavy-set black male,” then I kept seeing on the news they’re looking for “a man,” and that was pretty much it — a man, I think, 5’5″ they kept saying in the early stages. This seemed suspicious or strange to you, Ann. What’s going on?
This wasn’t… I mean, I think all people know that when you see some crime was committed or if this were just a mugging and you get lots of information, “wearing a red jacket and a baseball hat,” but no mention, no pictures, no… (laughing) no description of the race, okay. Everybody has learned, “Oh, if they don’t tell us, then we know it’s not a white guy, probably a black guy.
“They might tell us Asian or Hispanic.” But in this case, it wasn’t just a regular mugging. I mean, all the earmarks of this crime — an attack in an underground subway station, what appears to be bombs at first — it was smoke bombs and fireworks — the guy’s wearing a gas mask, and random shooting. Wow, that sounds like a terrorist attack.
So, if they’re not gonna tell us the race but only five eight, 160 pounds, and that was about the extent of it — oh, and male. So that narrows it down to only seven million people in New York. Be on the lookout? There’s nothing to be on the lookout for. There’s no reason this should have taken 24 hours to examine, at least according to current reports the guy had to call 911 on himself! (laughing)
CLAY: I appreciate the title of the column, Ann, but I thought it was, frankly, not inclusive enough because we don’t know for sure that she is a woman, right? I mean, when you really break it down.
COULTER: (laughing) Exactly.
CLAY: Are we even sure, I mean, that she is a woman because she was asked what a woman was, she couldn’t answer it, and given the fact that you’ve got women getting other women pregnant evidently, according to left-wing standards — I don’t know if you saw this story — in a prison. They have men, which I don’t really blame ’em, Ann.
You’ve got men who are surrounded by other men. It’s a violent, physically uncomfortable scene — and then evidently in New Jersey, if you just raise your hand and say, “Actually, I identify as a woman,” they will flip you over to the women’s prison and then suddenly you could just sleep with women while you’re in prison and get them pregnant. This is the woke world that we’ve created.
COULTER: Yes, and I believe at least some people in prison are in prison for rape. So, it gets even better.
CLAY: Well, good point.
COULTER: I don’t know if you saw this. The U.K. health service now, by law, is required to ask men in dresses, “Could you be pregnant?”
CLAY: I… (laughs) I don’t even know where we’re going with this. It is so funny that the Party of Science has descended to this level of absurdity.
BUCK: Answer that, Ann? I have a contention here that the left has actually been able to make itself even crazier than many of us conservatives could have anticipated five or 10 years ago because of their totalitarian, North Korea-style control when they want it. They don’t exercise it all the time, but when they want it over Twitter, over Facebook.
And it’s actually worse because, at least North Korea, you know it’s totalitarian. They do a lot of it behind the scenes. What are your thoughts about Elon stepping up here and maybe buying Twitter — if it actually can go through — and just the fact that you have blue check journalists in meltdown about the prospect that they don’t have a thumb on the scale for them anymore?
COULTER: Yes. It’s really been striking (laughs) how the phrase “free speech” is now synonymous with “right-wing.” Oh, boy, the left has given up on that. I mean, obviously it would be great. (laughs) We’ll see if it happens. Somebody tweeted out — and I couldn’t even remember all of the examples, they were just off the top of my head, but a liberal had tweeted out — “Oh, what’s this conservative anger at Twitter about?
“Is this just about Hunter Biden’s laptop and Trump?” And in 10 seconds I listed off approximately 10 people who have been permanently banned from Twitter, most recently Libs of TikTok and Babylon Bee. Katie Hopkins in the U.K., of course. Gavin McInnes. Milo Yiannopoulos, Alex Jones. I didn’t even get into… Oh, Jesse Kelly.
They are very much like North Korea, and I would like liberals as long as they consider this a good policy, to sign off on it for actual criminals like the aforementioned rapists and murderers. And that is if you send out, for example, a tweet supporting Kyle Rittenhouse before he’s acquitted, they suspend your account, remove the tweet for you, and then say, “The only way you will be allowed back on…”
So, you’re in Twitter jail. Nobody can see. You can’t tweet; nobody can see your Twitter feed. And within… (laughing) You know, within that world, they’ve gone ahead and helpfully deleted your tweet. So, you’re in jail, the punishment has been delivered, but you can’t get back on until you personally agree to delete the tweet. Can we try that with real criminals?
CLAY: It’s kind of like a metaphor for marriage for many people, Ann, by the way.
COULTER: You also… Sorry. Go ahead.
CLAY: No, no, no. I was just gonna say, you’re pointing out this insane hypocrisy. We were just talking about to close out the second hour of the program, Ann, I’m sure that you at least saw some of the fallout from the Oscars when they walked out and they said, “We’re gonna say ‘gay,'” and obviously you live in Florida so you’re familiar with the “don’t say gay” bill.
Have you paid attention to the fact that China has excised all references to gay from a new Harry Potter film? I don’t think they were particularly significant, in terms of being overwhelming. But Hollywood took all of them out, MGM did. Not one Hollywood star has said a word about China legitimately saying, “You can’t say gay in a film,” yet they’re still teeing off on the Florida bill which doesn’t have anything specifically to say about gay. To me, it’s just a perfect approximation and personification of hypocrisy in Hollywood over an issue such as this.
Luckily, national infection plus vaccination has pretty much immunized the entire American population right now, except for unusual cases with particular vulnerabilities. So Shanghai is having a massive wave of covid now, and they’ve locked people in their apartment buildings. They’re being forced to murder their pets because they could be carriers of covid, and I just…
I wish I could have, like, a hidden camera on people like Dr. Anthony Fauci, and imagine just the pain and jealousy he has of Shanghai being able to do this. The power these Chinese have! They can lock people down. They’re starving to death, they can’t get food deliveries, they’re screaming out of their apartment buildings.
And I think that’s probably the tradeoff the left is making, that, yes, we do want to enforce our views on transgenders and America and all white people being racist and pansexuality on the populace. But we don’t, unfortunately, have China’s powers right now. So, we have to be really nice to China so that we can develop these policies and fight China, the wonderful developing country. But once we have them, it will be just the reverse. Any movie that doesn’t have gay references, you’ll have to insert them.
BUCK: I’m quite certain, Ann, that when the drones are flying in the sky in Shanghai telling people to subdue their heart’s desire for freedom and stay inside, that Fauci saw that and thought, “What a great idea!”
CLAY: (laughs)
COULTER: Yes!
BUCK: But he doesn’t have the power quite yet. You do not have the power quite yet. AnnCoulter.com for her latest column. It’s a really good one on just the way the media covers stuff like the terror attack — and it was a terror attack — in New York City this past week. Ms. Coulter, thanks for coming to hang out. Good to talk to you.
COULTER: Good to talk to you. Bye-bye.
