Update: An Illegal Alien Did Rape a 10-Year-Old in Ohio
13 Jul 2022
CLAY: Yesterday, we talked about the viral story surrounding a 10-year-old girl who had reportedly traveled to Indiana to have an abortion. News just came down and we said yesterday on the show, โHey, if more evidence or news comes out about this story, we will update you.โ They have arrested a 27-year-old illegal immigrant โ Gershon Fuentes is his name โ according to the Columbus Dispatch, for raping a 10-year-old girl and impregnating her.
She was actually, according to the story, 9 years old at the time that she became pregnant. She then traveled to Indiana to have an abortion. The Indianapolis Star initially reported on that story, and their story was that this girl had to travel to Indiana to have an abortion. The attorney general of Ohio went on Fox News and said he knew nothing about a criminal investigation in this case and also that any girl in this situation who had been raped would have been able to have an abortion in Ohio as well.
Now, Iโm not an expert on the interplay between Indiana and Ohio abortion law. The AG issued a statement as the arraignment and arrest came out. โWe rejoice anytime a child rapist is taken off of the streets.โ Again, this is from the Columbus Dispatch. We want to make sure we update you on the story that we talked about yesterday. So, 27-year-old illegal immigrant arrested for multiple rapes of a 10-year-old girl who then got an abortion in the state of Indiana after those sexual assaults.
BUCK: So, Iโm looking into Ohio law as it stands now on abortion, and it bans abortion after, I believe, โembryonic cardiac activity.โ So they have a version of a fetal-heartbeat law.
Updating this viral story: a 27 year old illegal immigrant in Ohio has been arrested for raping a 10 year old girl. The girl could have gotten an abortion in Ohio under state law per the AG, but traveled to Indiana to have the abortion instead. https://t.co/8r3J1NLqyU

CLAY: Yeah.
BUCK: Theirs is six weeks after pregnancy. So itโs a, as these laws go, relatively short timeline, but the point still being that there was nothing to stop this very young girl from getting an abortion in the state of Ohio. So, I donโt know why the travel to Indiana was necessary. Weโll continue to look and see what that means. Maybe there was either a misunderstanding of the law or something. Who knows?
Iโm also wondering what further details we could get on, one, how did the attorney general of the state of Ohioโฆ? He really made the case that, initially, that he didnโt know about this or if he didnโt know. Well, now thereโs an arrest, itโs been about 24 hours; so clearly there were things underway here. Looks like he missed something pretty significantly.
And then also, why did it take up to now? Why were there news reports being written, the president of the United States talking about this rape โ this rape of a child โ and they just got to the arrest now. Maybe they were looking for the individual; I donโt know. Iโm just saying there are some additional details that I would want us to get.
CLAY: Other details that Iโd want to know, the mom reported this to authorities, evidently, in Columbus, Ohio, which Iโm presuming is where the girl is from. If that is what began the investigation, why was that not a part of the story about her traveling to Indiana to get an abortion? Again, I think, Buck, to your point, sheโs in Columbus, Ohio, she travels to Indianapolis.
Why was that necessary if the attorney general of Ohio is correct that Ohio would allow a rape victim to get an abortion in Columbus as well? Thereโs still lots of details that are not necessarily clear here. But we wanted to make sure we got you that news just coming down in the last hour. We told you yesterday if that story was updated, we would tell you the latest. And that is the latest.
