The New York attorney general, Letitia James, is running for reelection in 48 days, and she’s launched this civil probe of President Trump, his kids, and the Trump Organization.

This feels transparently political — and again, it is civil, not criminal in nature.

This is Trump Derangement Syndrome. She wants Trump badly. The fact that she couldn’t find criminal charges is a very big deal.
So New York’s Democrat AG spent years investigating Trump and was only able to charge him with civil violations — not criminal — 48 days before her own election? This is an embarrassingly political prosecution, even for Democrats.

They are going to charge Trump, and if they take him out, they will move to Ron DeSantis. It’ll be, “Trump is worse than Hitler, and Ron DeSantis is worse than Trump, who is worse than Hitler.”
In Opinion
Ron DeSantis “may be a more competent Trump in terms of his ability to use the levers of state to amass power, but he’s also meaner and more rigid, without the soft edges and eccentricity of the actual Donald Trump,” writes @jbouie. https://t.co/iG8mv63mOW

They will do it without batting an eyelash.
