The Inflation Reduction Act Doesn’t

BUCK: So the Inflation Reduction Act doesn’t really reduce inflation.

Okay. (laughing) It’s supposed to increase manufacturing and energy production. It won’t do that, either. Other than that, great! Actually, no, there’s even worse stuff that we could talk about. This is one issue where you see raising taxes on companies right now, what is likely to happen, specifically manufacturers? What has been the reality of you going to the grocery store? You say, “Hey, you’re not allowed to raise the price of eggs 50%” or whatever it is right now.
Eggs in particular, which I eat a lot of eggs, big eggs fan. Still bitter about the fact that in the eighties they were like, it’s gonna give you too much cholesterol. Lies. Lies. Eggs are excellent for you, fantastic food. It was the science then. I bet Fauci was like (impression), “Don’t eat eggs. Have a lot of margarine. Margarine is delicious and so good for you. Don’t worry the fact that it is actually chemical crap that is really bad for you because I’m telling you to eat it.”
Anyway, yeah. What happens when they raise the price of eggs at the market? Do you get to go up to the manager and say, “Excuse me, sir. But you’ve raised the price of eggs.” Now, you could go to another story, but guess what? You think the price of eggs really that much lower there? Hmm? These are commodities. These are things that people want to go and get. There are some distinctions about whether you get free…
I actually found this out recently. I think it’s pasture-raised is the best. I know there are people who raise their own chickens and ducks and geese and things like that who probably can — but there’s a lot of games they play with all these different egg designations that you’re gonna eat. I think the best one they say is you want it to be… Is it free range? Right, is free range the best one? ‘Cause there’s some version they’ll say where, you know, they’re actually not… It makes it sound like the chickens are doing well.
But they’re not, they’re actually in a very enclosed space, and then there’s another one, another designation where they’re actually living, like, normal chicken lives. Anyway. I’ll look. It’s kind of like people that are like, I only eat organic fruit. Yeah, but do you know what they put on the organic fruit? ‘Cause — just think about it this way. There are a lot of things that are organic that you don’t want to eat. You know. Mercury is organic. Arsenic is organic. A lot of things are organic you don’t want to eat.
Just because something is designated organic doesn’t mean that it’s something you necessarily want to put in your body. But the price, as you know, gets passed on to consumers when there are things like this, when there are raises in an industry that are going to affect everybody. Karine Jean-Pierre, economics PhD… Just kidding, although you didn’t need me to explain that she doesn’t have a PhD in economics.
Not that that would even really matter. Be honest. A lot of PhD in economics… Paul Krugman says, “The economy is so good; that’s why inflation is high. Biden’s so amazing.” It just must be weird to go through life as a professional econ court jester now for the Democrat regime. Kind of sad in some ways. Here is Karine Jean-Pierre, though. That was talking about Krugman. Here’s Karine Jean-Pierre. I cannot speak as to whether the tax hikes will increase prices.
REPORTER: “How confident is the president that the companies will not pass that cost [in the Bidenflation Scam] on to people in the form of higher prices?”

BUCK: Yeah. Not a surprise that she doesn’t know. But the answer is, yes, people will end up… What are these companies? Who is paying? Also, why don’t they name them more often? Let’s know. What are the companies that they’re gonna now raise taxes on? Because what’s going to happen as a result of that? You’re seeing prices rising all around you. You’re seeing this happening. You’re feeling this going on right now in your day-to-day lives. And Democrats think that somehow, they have a better handle on where this capital should be allocated. In fact, here is… Do you guys remember Senator Michael Bennet? Remember this guy? He’s a big Green New Deal guy. He says this inflation act will put us on a path to energy independence.
BENNET: It really is amazing moment in the United States Senate. We’re finally, finally doing the work the American people sent us to do. We think about the CHIPS Act that we passed last week that’s gonna bring back semi– the semiconductor industry to the United States. You think about the tax act we passed last night on veterans’ health care, and then the Inflation Reduction Act that’s gonna — gonna dramatically reduce health care costs for the American people and put us on the path to energy independence, strengthen our national security.
BUCK: Green energy, folks… Just understand, green energy. How long do you think it’s gonna take to get to green energy independence? ‘Cause that’s really what the act does. It’s gonna subsidize a bunch of Green New Deal stuff. It is outrageous, my friends. But this is what they do. This is who they are.
