The Fauch Reappears to Tell Us It’s Not Over
18 Mar 2022
BUCK: (doing impression) Where is The Fauch? I’ve been asking the question. I’ve been wondering, “Am I gonna have to put on a lab coat and some little glasses and walk around and pretend to be Fauci?” No. It turns out he has reappeared just to tell us you’re not over it yet. It’s not done.
FAUCI: We need to be flexible. And if in fact we do see a turnaround and a resurgence, we have to be able to pivot and go back to any degree of mitigation that is commensurate with what the situation is. But the one thing that’s important, that’s a wildcard in this is that there is waning immunity, and we gotta make sure that those people who’ve been vaccinated get boosted. Only about 50% of the people who are eligible to be vaccinated have gotten their boost.

BUCK: “You gotta get boosted.” Now, isn’t this fascinating? “You got to get boosted,” and how many people who got boosted got infected anyway the last time? They haven’t even told us yet, have they? And there’s a new variant out there that they’re saying is spreading very rapidly in other parts of the world. We know it’s just a matter of time before it comes here.
Does the booster for the previous vaccine work well against the new variant? Have they tested it? Do they know? How long does it work? “Stop asking questions! Get ready for shot number 15.” It’s coming. Told you. He’s not done with you until we make him done with all of us, as in we don’t listen to him anymore.
